To Matau Kura
Our School
Nau mai haere mai ki to mātau kura. No te tau 2013 i tu ai mātau hei Kura Kaupapa Māori i raro i Te Runanga Nui O Ngā Kura Kaupapa Māori. Koia nei te huarahi mo ngā tamariki kua ako i roto i ngā Kōhanga Reo, otira mo ngā whānau e kaingakau ana ki to tātau reo rangatira.
The Kura currently caters for students from year one through to year thirteen and is open to all Kohanga Reo graduates and those tamariki with reasonable fluency in Te Reo Māori. Kura Kaupapa Māori such as Te Orini are a natural and logical progression for graduates of Kohanga Reo.

Our Curriculum
He Kura Kaupapa Māori a Te Orini ki Ngāti Awa e whakaako ana i ngā marautanga katoa ma Te Aho Matua, te Haahi Ringatu me to mātau Ngāti Awatanga. Nei ra ngā uri e noho nei ki te hapai i ngā mahi a kui, a koro ma. “Ko Ngāti Awa te toki tē tangatanga i te rā, tē ngohengohe i te wai.”
Te Kura Kaupapa Maori o Te Orini provides a learning environment which promotes and sustains lifelong learning in a rapidly changing and highly technological society with a special emphasis on Te Reo Maori.
Te Orini has an emphasis on Ngāti Awatanga and follows the teaching/learning system enshrined in the foundation document for Kura Kaupapa Māori, “Te Aho Matua o nga Kura Kaupapa Māori”

KA ORA KA AKO - School Lunches
We provide nutritious lunches as part of the Ka Ora Ka Ako (Free and healthy Lunches) programme prepared by our own on site chef.
MARAUTANGA KE - Extracurricular Activities
Education Outside The Classroom (EOTC), noho marae, waka ama, tutei-tira moana (surf life-saving), reti ngaru (surfing), netiporo (netball), haupoi (hockey), poitukohu (basketball), ki-o-rahi, pa whutuporo (touch-rugby), tihae whutuporo (ripper-rugby).
HANGARAU AKO - Technology in the Classroom
All classrooms are equipped with ipads and we are part of the Apple Distinguished Schools (ADS) programme. Robopa (robotics) is also an annual part of our yr 5-8 programme.
